FCI, Fire Cause And Investigation, is a division of System Engineering And Laboratories (SEAL). Our fire investigators are trained and certified in fire, arson, and explosion investigation. We combine cause and origin investigative information with scene documentation and collected evidence for insurance claims, subrogation, and litigation. So, when an origin of a fire indicates a product defect or failure, our investigative engineers are available and ready to assist in analysis of the specific product failure or complex losses.
Residential And Commercial Fires & Explosions
According to the NFPA, forty-seven percent of structure fires occurring in either Residential or Tenant-dwelling apartments are caused by unattended appliances. As a result, many have lost their homes due to accidentally not turning off their stove appliance. For instance, becoming distracted while cooking can sometimes result in an unattended cooking fire.
Fire & Explosion Cause Investigations
The contributing factors for vehicle fires can be attributed to human, mechanical, electrical, chemical or a combination of causes. The most important consideration is determining the point of origin. Once the origin is established, the individual systems in that area can be examined to find the cause of the fire.
