Level of Effort Schedule

LEVEL ONE ANALYSIS

This level may include the following:

  • Visual examination
  • Macro scale visual from 1X to 200X as required
  • Light cleaning with client permission
  • Macro scale - file only photography
  • Measurements as required
  • Brief written report

This level normally will identify the basic failure mode, ie., overload, impact. torsional, ductile, brittle, bending, and fatigue. It can be used to identify a sudden failure vs. a long term fatigue or wear failure. The cost for this level analysis depends on the degree of difficulty.

LEVEL TWO ANALYSIS

This level may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Level one analysis
  • Measurements are more detailed and can include weight
    down to .0001 gram
  • Macro scale photographs of the subject included in report
  • Cleaning to include chemical procedures
  • Hardness testing
  • Exemplar test as required
  • Special test protocol as required
  • Detailed written report and photographs

This level is an expansion of level one. It includes more detail and time consuming procedures.
